Sad iPod solution

i've revived my iPod!! WOOOHOOO!

so after trying absolutely everything (5R's, formatting, dropping from waistheight, trying to get into disk mode, praying to the ipod god's, etc) i followed some other ppls suggestion to open up the pod and disconnect and reconnect the wires that plug into the hard drive. and it worked, my ipod has risen from the dead, hallelujah!

so thanx to the ppl who suggested this solution (i can't remember exactly who u r sorry) and i recommend this solution to anyone else with the 'sad ipod' problem with their 4th gen ipod.

cheers;cam

My ipod stopped working and started showing me the sad icon. (it's done this before, always after i charged it plugged into the computer instead of the wall) i connected it to the computer, it wasn't recognized by itunes or anything, but the ipod updater found it. tried to restore, got the unknown error message. then the disk utility came up. then i disconnected it because i wasn't sure what to do, and...it started to work. and all my music was there.
What's going on?

I am truly amazed- My iPod liiiivvvveeeessss!
hehehehehe!
I went to
http://www.kokopellimusic.us/pdf/Instructions%204th.pdf
for nice clear how to open the bloo- oops! dashed thing- pic 7 is the relevant bit with pins you take the hard drive off- I did all this with a thin round ended ivory letter opener- I know that's not so very ellefunt type animal friendly I guess- but it IS very very old, from my Granny- and was sat on the desk in front of me- but I think a small flexible round ended cake icing tool or sharp paring knife would do it if one was truly careful.... I take no responsibility for loss of fingers eyes etc

Oh- does the droppin onto carpet work???? sounds deadly scarey to drop something on purpose!! (this from me- on my 7th Nokia 8800- keep dropping THEM!) LoL!
