iPhone 4S keeps connecting and disconnecting from Macbook Pro Retina Display

Hi guys,

Everything was ok yesterday but right now when I connect my iPhone 4S to my Macbook Pro Retina display (I've got it yesterday) left USB it keeps connecting and disconnecting. I'm on Lion latest update.

I've tested with another cable same result. Turned off and on both MBPR and iPhone 4S twice didn't help.

No the interesting part that may help: it works fine on my PC all three USB ports. It works on right USB port of my MBPR too. I've tested the left USB port (That has a problem) with other devices. I'm writing this post with an external keyboard plugged to this port. I've tested this port with my iPod Touch and it worked fine. Only happens with my iPhone 4S and this left USB port.

Any suggestion? Is it possible that the USB port not working well? Any way to assure it's fine?

Thanks alot.

OK here is what I've had so far:

Nothing fixed the problem. But it's gone for no reason. But I did two things.

I got black screen right before login screen. I did uninstall gfxCardStatus and disable Guest user.

Now my iPhone 4S is connecting at the moment and the problem is gone. I have no idea that which one caused the problem or it's not even related and it's gone because I changed my place to 7th floor instead of 25th floor but it's good to know these things to nail the problem.

I will keep you guys posted with latest update.

Hi,

Personally I don't like to deal with such a small problem by taking it to the G bar bar and replace the whole logic board. I told myself it has some other problem I'll do that otherwise I use the other USB for my iPhone or just plug it to the keyboard.

Everything works fine except the iPhone and only after 90% charge starts connecting/disconnecting.

If it really annoys you, take it to the G bar.
