    Ive just phoned apple care in the UK - And the American sounding chap I spoke to was not aware of the issue?? REALLY!! -

     

    He's popped me on hold and is checking something - Been on hold for the last 10 Minutes!!! - Its ok though Ive managed to find a local rate numer and not one of those 0845 premium lines.

     

    Still not good enough, whats the delay in resending the codes.

    Did they say if that is what you had to do? Should they not just resend codes without the need for a call?

    There is no need to call or recall. Don't panic. THey will send you a new code. Sit tight.

    Frankly, I'm not sure.

    When I called, they did admit that the case was acknowledged, and say that I didn't need to do any further operation and they will send me the new code within 2-3 days. Then I got the code a few hours later.

    Anyway, I suggest you to call them. If you don't report the problem, how would they know your code doesn't work?

    I just called Apple Care and was told the same, wait upto 72hrs.  I think he must have been psychic because I asked him to guess why I was calling and he got it right!!!!  Amazing!!!

    Same here, just received the new code (through the encrypted pdf) half an hour ago. Made through the redemption and was immediately on the downloading process, about 40 min download time from my area.

    Received new code about 2 hours ago.  Waiting a bit as the App Store was acting strange and slow for me.  Didn't do anything other than wait for the e-mails.

    i received my new code a few hours ago. now when i try to redeem it on the mac app store, it says 'you need payment method to access this functionality'. why do i need payment method to access something which is being provided free of cost is beyond me. do i need to have my credit card on file?

    Welcome to the App Store Experience!

     

    You will not be able to get free things from the App Store, like this free upgrade, unless you register a valid method of payment.  And you'll have to agree to lots of terms of use that have nothing to do with what you are trying to accomplish. Be sure to take the time to read them all carefully.

     

    I went though this kind of experience months ago with some other apple thing. I am really encouraged to see that this process is still in place.
