Mountain Lion Redemption code already used?

Well, finally got through to enter my info for Mountain Lion for my new 2012 MBAir. Within 3 minutes, got my emails for my redemption code. However, when I enter the redemption code - IT'S ALREADY USED! Someone has already cracked the codes, or guessed the redemption codes I presume.

I have to say Apple - what a joke. You already know the serial number on my system, which can be used to look up the purchase date - or determine it's a model that was ONLY available after the free upgrade date - and could have done that to allow me to get it without all this BS.

Thanks bunches - now how many weeks will it take to convince someone I really didn't download it? How in the heck does this get straightened out?

I've got the same issue, I've been emailing someone from the iTunes Store Support team in the UK all afternoon, he told me he's put in a claim for a new code to be sent out via my email and that it should be with me in 24-28 hours. I had a big issue when Apple released iOS 5 with downloading and authorising the download so it seems I have bad luck then it comes to new Apple OS'.

Hopefully this new code I'll recieve will fix the issue 🙂

I wonder whether I can request a refund if I just go ahead and pay the $19.99 now while waiting for the redeem codes to be figured out... That would be a great solution to get us off to the races at least!

I live in California and I got the same message. But I went ahead and went through the installation believing that the coupon would be applied. I guess I paid for it, I hope Apple refunds me my money back.

Same issue. I called the Apple live support who said the e-mail with the new code will be arriving in the next 24 hours. Come on Apple, What has happened!

I am really angry at Apple. I got a non-working code. It had "already" been used. When I contact AppStore support with that Problem they write that they can't help me, but technical support should help me.

So I have no idea where to get this solve other then hope that Apple re-send codes to all people.

The sad thing is that this punish us that are legal. The GM iso propagaded on NNTP server over 2 weeks ago. It would take me less then 15 minutes to install that on my Retina Macbook pro. People with minimal knowhow know how to get these thing illegally.

I spend 3K dollars on a Retina Macbook pro. I ordered it one day after WWCD and finally got it yesterday. First 1 month wait, and then this misshapp.

Apple should just let us buy 10.8 and later refund the money. Now I dont know how long I have to wait, or if I just should install an "evaluation" version.

This is exatly my feeling... I feel cheated for being a good upstanding customer, while the "pirates" are enjoying Mountain Lion. Get your **** together, Apple.

I've also been sent one of the invalid codes. I sent in a request over 10 hrs. ago, and haven't heard anything.

This is not like Apple at all. I blocked off this day to get this done, and now I can't. It seems like those who ordered new hardware are the ones getting the short end of the stick. First the delay on the laptop, now this.

Why didn't they just use our Apple ID and credit us $20 instead of going through all of this hassle? Then we could download the software whenever we see fit. I think that Apple just made the whole process more complicated than it needed to be. For a company built around things being done in an elegant manner, this isn't cutting the mustard.

Perhaps they'll issue us an iTunes card for our trouble (if the code works). Sorry, I had to say that.

Nobody "stole" or "pirated" any codes. Apple just gave out faulty codes or codes that have already been used before. Just hold on a day or two at most and they WILL send out new codes. It's APPLE'S FAULT for sending out bad codes.

8 hours on and no new redemption code, the closest I am to Mountain Lion at the moment is Safari 6.0 which was Lion software update

xfmym, I was not implying that the redemption codes were stolen. I was meerly pointing out that those that have pirated Mountain Lion are currently enjoying it, while I sit here impatiently waiting for my redemption code. Nice guys finish last I guess...
