Sure, problem solved... but definitely not "Flawless Apple". They could have at least publicly acknowledged the problem, instead of hiding behind their support. Whatever. Such is life when buying into a highly guarded and secretive electronic ecosystem.

So, 5 days after release and here I am with 4 encrypted PDFs, 3 keys (which only work on 3 of the PDFs), 2 codes (they even sent me the same code twice). I still have no copy of ML,

I'm still waiting on a response from the uptodate email people and I'm getting more peeved that they seem to be letting this slide as if everything is perfect. I've been on the phone to apple twice (this is a new mac after all with the included phone support) and they've not been able to help.

And all for the sake of software with a purchase price of less than 1% of the purchase price of this mac. Very poor

Quit exaggerating it has been three days not five days.

I find it ironic that over eight people that I personally know including myself received the PDF email and then with in four hours received the password and everything worked perfect the first. I think this entire thing is getting blown way out of proportion just because of peoples impatience.

ML released on Weds and I got my first code from them at 14:46 BST (within 5 mins of applying). So, from then

    Thurs     1 day

    Fri          2 days

    Sat         3 days

    Sun        4 days

So, as of 14:46 BST, it was 4 days. I'll admit to mis-counting a little but I'd say it's more like 4.5 days, let's round it up

ASterman: Good for you and I'm very happy for you but you really should look up the definition of irony.

  • AStemerman Level 1 Level 1

I know the definition of ironic and the definition is correct if you include my sarcasm.

However, at the same time I don't think everyones lying about the problems they're having.  I just don't really see the point in having 20 different topics all related to the same thing. However their frustration to me makes more sense now that it has been "4" days and not 4 hours since the release of Mountain Lion.

(Regarding The Timeframe) I'll give you that, we'll meet in the middle at 4 days lol.

At least you're still getting emails though, so you know you are still in the loop. If I were you, I would begin to worry when I stop receiving emails and still don't have Mountain Lion.

  • fox2319 Level 1 Level 1

I'll take 4 days. Must have missed the sarcasm, maybe it fell down a sarchasm or something...

Anyway, should I be worried that I've had emails from apple on every day except today? And we wouldn't need 20 different topics to discuss this if apple actually acknowledged the problem and came up with some sort of sensible workaround. Why bother with all the cloak & dagger BS with the encrypted PDFs anyway? For those of us who bought the product online, why not just credit the registered app store account with a copy of ML?

Apple representatives don't respond to topics in their forum. At least I've never seen them respond to anything in here. I would assume the reason for the encrypted PDF emails is because with so many redeemable codes for Mountain lion people were and are packet sniffing to get those codes and they probably didn't want "those people" to steal a lot of peoples codes and leave everyone with codes that don't work. But, with what happened, that may have not gone as well as planned for some people. In my opinion.
