Corrupt Mountain Lion File @ App Store?

This is the message I'm repeatedly getting from the app store:

We could not complete your purchase

The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed.

Note the store is otherwise working correctly.

I had the same issue a couple of times, but I think it was because I was trying to do other things while it was downloading. For instance, I did a software update and a app store software update while the Lion OS was downloading. I deleted that download, rebooted and downloaded again without interrupting it. It seems to be working fine now. Hope that solution works for you.

Check in Console.APP, see if you are getting an error related to /var/folders. It could be that it is not at your location yet or that the servers are very busy.

You can try deleting the actual folder in var/folders/<Install folder> with the download but I would wait, since it seems to be a demand issue from my location. Similar to the Lion roll out, it is going to take some time to spin up...

On your Mac you can check for the errors.

Follow the error down and look for

Just going to have to wait, demand is very heavy.

For everyone who is getting this "file verification" error I think I figured it out on my computer(s).

VirusBarrier X6. Uninstall it. Make sure you do this via Intego's instructions.

This solved my issue.
