To expand on Inyourbus' reply. The problem seems to be either with your ISP or the network you are downloading through (are you going through a corporate firewall?)

The solution is to either;

1) Try a different connection. I got it to download through my VirginMedia connection at home, it was my work connection that was failing

OR

2) get a free trial with a VPN service, connect to that and download through it (what that does is tunnels out through your ISP to a different 'virtual' ISP- I"m oversimplifying but that's the basics).

The VPN service that inyourbus suggested previously was http://www.hotspotshield.com/

There is nothing wrong with "you people". They are merely trying to find a quick answer to the 53.25MB problem and a quick answer. Yes, if they read the thread they will find the answer. You have to realise that most people want a quick fix.

If they read back through the thead there are several thoughts that it is related to specific ISPs. For example I had the issue on a BT business account. Yet when I went home I was able to download straight away on a Virgin Media account.

That's all. And it's not worth name calling in forums. It gets old.

Yea, there is something wrong with somone coming to a forum, finding a thread and posting before reading anything (not even the previous post) from said thread.

Some threads on the Apple forum are 100s of pages long. This thread has only 4 Pages currently. Not a long job to get through to find a solution in my oppinion. So it is still a quick fix.

Left for 8 hours last night and didnt get any response whatsoever. Still stuck on "waiting". Have tried from multiple locations so not network, have rebooted multiple times, have restarted app store multiple times. This is sh1t...

I cannot see any responses from Apple on this issue even though it looks like the servers in the shiny new data centre are hosed.

Alphamike- there's very few people with this problem, so waiting for Apple to fix this isn't going to help you.

Hyndman is asking what ISP you are using because we are pretty sure this is NOT an Apple issue- almost everyone with this problem has been using BT (specifically BT business broadband) as their ISP. It seems likely that BT have a caching server that has somehow picked up a corrupted version of the download and has not yet timed it out.

The solutions/workarounds to this have been posted several times in this thread. I won't repeat them, just read up.
