My download effort stalled, though much closer to the end of the download.

I have access to only one ISP at my home (I will not use iPhone tethering via the AT&T 3G network for such a large download). I have a Netgear N900 wireless router, which offers both 2.4 and 5.0 WiFi bands. My initial download was via the 5.0 band. When I couldn't get any of my other efforts to work, I switched to the 2.4 band and the download resumed immediately and completed without any difficulty.

The subsequent install was trouble free.

Okay here's what I did when this happened to me. I opened up Launchpad where the Mountain Lion Icon was created. I deleted it from there. Then I went to the AppStore and deleted it off of my purchased tab. Then I went back like I was going to buy it and I clicked buy again and it said "You have already purchased this item, press OK to download for free." I clicked OK and then it started downloading. Hopefully this will help all of you.

I use hotspot shield and manage to continue download up to 2gb. Then my download completed. When I tried to run the instalation I get corrupted error.. I guess if I leave hotspot shield i might be able to complete it up to 4gb. I'm getting suspicious alert from google that hotspot shield tried to access my gmail..so abit worried..

Ok, I'm with BT Business Broadband (on an Infinity product, so should be very quick) and my download stuck at 53.25MB... tried various things, including changing the MTU on the ethernet connection, the usual del-restart download, etc. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Then I disconnected the ethernet (ie BT Broadband) and used the wifi connection on my Mac Pro to connect via my iPad's 3G (set up a personal hotspot) and the download carried on past the 53.25MB mark.

After it hit 60MB I turned off my wifi and let the download carry on, via the ethernet (so back to BT). It worked. A few minutes later (ie now) it's at 181MB and counting... so no guarantees that it isn't corrupt or anything but so far App Store hasn't complained.

Just thought I'd share that here for all the other BT Broadband users - just use a few MB of our iphone/ipad or even mifi allowance is all you seem to need to get over the 'hump' at 53.25MB. What a PITA! :-(

I'll report back if this works / doesn't - ie if it turns out corrupt or something. Currently I have about 1hr 11mins remaining on the download (while typing it's up to 315MB so I have some hope this will actually work!).

Good luck to all.

PS - note that you either need to disconnect the ethernet cable(s) on your Mac or change your binding order (in network settings) if you want to leave things connected.

@ inyourbus - you may think that my way won't work but the download finished successfully and it is currently installing on my MBP (2012).

The key seems to be in 'flicking' between connections - the App Store will pause the download, as the network connectivity changes, the then restart on it's own (using the new connection, non BT), then after it's gone a few MB you 'flick' back. That way I covered the 53.25MB to 62MB(ish) just fine and it carried on to complete the download.

The installer hasn't noted any corruptions on unpacking the app and is currently showing "about 19mins" remaining for ML to install.
