I have emailed Apple and waited a few hours, am wondering whether I filled out the form wrong and wasted my chance? Wondering how long anyone else had to wait?

btw,I'm still puzzled how to apply for the free 1.I bought my Pro on July,before release date.I try to apply for a free one on this webside:

Well,the problem is how to email my paper receipt?should I take a photo for it and mail it?but I don't know send it to where,not an e-mail address has been mentioned on that webside,I mean.

None of us here actually work for Apple, we're just users like yourself. So no one here can give you a more speicic answer. Everyone at Apple is probably a little busy right now. They may even be waiting a little bit to give the servers a break today.

I wish Apple would post something about how long to expect between applying for the free the Up-to-Date code (submitting the form) and when one will get an e-mail with a code. It has been 4 hours since I submitted the form and I have heard nothing, not even that they received the submission. Not as good an experience as I normally expect and have with Apple.
I'm having the same problem guys, submitted my form last night and still haven't heard anything back today. I'm assuming Apple are just being cautious with the application forms and taking there time to go through every single one submitted. Good to know I'm not the only one still waiting.
Bro Idk what to tell you. I sent out my request yesterday at 9 am..... Still no email -___- Called apple care they told me to wait... still no email..... But hey it's free so I'm not going to complain anymore.
It would have been courteous to acknowledge that they received the claim for the free download, even if they sent a generic email to everyone. I am also beginning to wonder whether I have filled in the form correctly, guess I wont know until whenever they decide to email me back...
I don't understand why there needs to be these redemption code hoops in the first place. The info we submit is enough for them to simply activate the download on our Apple ID. Even then, it doesn't make sense that it is taking five hours to regenerate codes.
I think we should all ring Apple and try and speed up the process... this service is really bad. If we accumulate the cost that we have all spent (and many more) awaiting this new update and I'm sure Apple would be quick to fix the issue.
I don't mind waiting if I'm given a good reason from them as to why I have to wait, but I don't like this service.

Yeah man! Fight the Power!!! lol enough is enough! We have been waiting for a long time.... at least send us an email saying your order is confirmed and its on the way! and its now 12:00 and still no email.
So the geniuses (sarcasm) at Apple sent me a 2nd redeem code for the App store, which was supposed to be for Mountain Lion. The 1st code incorrectly stated that it had already been used. I went to enter the code and it turns out the code was for OSX Server (not OS 10.8), which I can't download, because OSX Server requires Mountain Lion (10.8). Thanks a lot Apple 😟. Now I have to go through the whole process again of contacting support and telling them again how they f'd up. Just my luck I had my case reviewed by a monkey on his first day at work.
Could Apple just allow us to buy it and then set up a page to prove your eligible and issue you a credit towards a future app purchase? Some type of communication would be nice, just email us and tell us what is up.
Actually, I was just over at MacRumors on their forums and some people are already just buying Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store and then emailing Apple Support and asking for a refund. Which they are getting the refunds. I think they are playing the "I didn't know I could get a free copy" card though but it seems to be working.
Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining at a freebie, nor am I bothered about waiting for it, I'm just not happy with the service Apple are providing.
We shouldn't really have to be considering buying it then ringing for a refund, it should just be a straight forward process.
Ring them and just say that you're really disgusted with the service, surely they would have known that a lot of people would be wanting the free upgrade as they were advertising and they should have the staff there to be able to cope for the demand. If they haven't fully prepared themselves it's bad customer service, and working in customer services myself I'm usually quite tolerant of these types of things.
