How do you get a refund?

This is ridiculous. Only reason I got this update was to support my apple TV with mirroring. And now come to find out, burried on some sub-website, this feature is only for 2011 and later Macs. I would like my money back and this rubish removed from my computer!

Why do you need evidence? You cannot see the reasoning behind why they left this out nor can understand what I am saying, unless you are indeed trolling. I'll put it in lamens terms: The more important information they bury, the more copies they will sell, regardless if it works on a users machine or not. It doesn't take a genius to figure this out. I'm not arguing that they didn't warn you, I'm arguing they were underhanded.

Underhanded: Acting or done in a secret or dishonest way

Pal, I'm not trolling. I have over 70 times the help points you do, so if anyone is trolling it's you.

You said Apple left out certain information on purpose. You can't simply throw out an accusation like that without some evidence. Prove to me that it was done purposefully.

on purpose, by design; intentionally.

I suspect it was no worse than many other companies having footnotes/disclaimers but easy to miss...

Must be a tough call in the advertising dept - alienate people when they upgrade or make it really obvious and spoil the advertisement....they'll probably upgrade anyway.

I am a huge Apple fan and I have been following a lot of things about the new Mac OS X and I understand the frustration raised by not having Airplay.

My Macbook Pro is a great computer and it works just fine and it is a lot better than many PCs that are out there and it will be for awhile. I am bummed about not having this as my computer is definitely not outdated (from a perspective obviously)

And people can easily miss out the fine print as they are getting excited about the larger font Airplay or the pictures etc and the feature itself.

People will voice their frustrations, this is why there are forums and support groups here. I don't see a reason to get defensive or rude about discussing thes.

Still a great update as an operating system and it is $19.99. Like everything else in life, it is not going to be perfect nor is going to satisfy everybody. However I was suprised that I was caught off-guard on this issue as I really rely on my computer to be a very good working computer.

Thank goodness I'm out traveling and cannot even begin to think of a Mountain Lion upgrade for a week or so. However, I do agree that sometimes Apple could go further in giving information in simple terms. Iv been a Mac user for more than 20 years and I see this nearly everytime something comes out or gets an upgrade.

My MBP is early 2010, though it was produced in late 2009. My MBA is early 2011 (Feb), though produced in late 2010, 2 dual core. Even after 20 years I sometimes get confused on the time lines that Apple publishes.

To make it more confusing it is more about the inside of the Mac not the date ... though Apple tries. AirPlay Mirror with Mountain Lion has issues with the graphics card more than the processors. Different graphics cards ... different requirements.

Wow there are a lot of arragant sods on this forum.

At the end of the day, Apple have ****** off a lot of people.

I'm an Apple fan, I've had Mac's as long as I can remember. Heck, I was living in China and bought at a charithy auction from Apple the first iMac sold there. It wasn't cheap...granted I got a cool watch, a little clock, and a certificate. I still have it, and I don't expect it to be supported...however...
Not having support for Airplay is a big deal, and people are right to ask for a refund/be annoyed that their two year old computer isn't supported. This has annoyed me, and from what I'm reading on the internet...a lot of other people off as well.
Seforeman, good luck with the refund. Others have been told by the self proclaimed genius's at Apple store's their computers would be supported...so don't feel bad if you missed the fine print.

Not all Apple users are as arrogant has some of the people on this forum.

It is amazing to me how some people get so defensive about a product or a company that they are not even part of. I have all kinds of Apple products and I love all of them and would be considered a fan boy but I wouldn't just give these responses like a very bad bad customer representative, blaming people missing the fine print!

People have the right to complain about issues especially when they have a very solid point. As in my case (and I have written in many topics today), my 2 year old great macbook pro should support this feature. I did not even check to see if my system would support all the feature and the new OS X as I was really confident in my laptop.

So I missed a fine print....so now everything is my fault??? It is like I go to a grocery store, there is milk for sale for $1.99, I take it to the cashier and he says there is a fine print that this milk is actually bad! So the grocery store has no responsibility about making this known to the consumer??

Dude, people are insinuating Apple intentionally misled people. Are you also of that opinion?

I don't know Apple's intentions and they use the best marketing strategies and this is business. I understand that. However as prestigious Apple has become and as great and loyal customers it has, they owe an explanation at this time.

My two year old MacBook pro which I paid over $2k for cannot support a airplay mirroring feature?? As a great customer I would like that answer. And there might be a great reason to it technically. But putting it in a fine print shouldn't be an Apple way. There is a reason why I pay extra money to these products and this is not what I should receive.

In addition, when I watched the keynote presentation, it was immediately after that I found out that power nap was not available to me. But there was nothing about the mirroring option. So this creates questions as the decision to exclude certain products were made after the fact. If it was technical it should have been known at the time. I am speculating but obviously apple not clarifying anything at this time gives me the one option which is to speculate.

Nonetheless, my above comment was more towards people getting so defensive about apple and anyone having a complaint and being rude and arrogant.
