Just upgraded my 2010 12core mac pro to mountain lion and now none of my ethernet connections work!!!

I have some good news... The thunderbolt adaptor has kept a stable connection for 48hrs now. If you don't have a thunderbolt connection the Startech USB 2 adaptor has worked perfectly also.... From Amazon.
So, I cant say its confidently stable, but its now (for some odd reason) been working for about 24 hours....I also ordered a thundrbolt to Gigabit adaptor.... maybe they want us to buy accessories....;)
i have a new Imac and both wifi and ethernet work for one minute and then it stops.
Does anyone know how to solve this? Apple support does not know.
I just upgraded my Mac Pro 3,1 (2008) to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard. It was working fine for the day, but then it stopped detecting that any ethernet ports were plugged in.
