Where has the Activity Window gone in Safari 6.0?
OS X Mountain Lion
I see a DL button on http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1070 but I don't know if it'll work. You can give it a go I suppose. Remember to backup!! 🙂
I'm currently still running Lion and haven't upgraded to Mountain Lion, I wonder if Safari 6 was designed to work with Mountain and those new functions wont work with an older version of Safari?
Just thinking outloud............
Well. As I understand, the issue is downloading flash video.
1. You make any bookmark on the Bookmarks bar
2. You replace address with
javascript:%20window.open('http://en.savefrom.net/#url='%20+%20escape(location.href));
(right click on your bookmark, then "Edit Address")
3. Rename Bookmark for example "Download video"
As always, the best way to talk to Apple engineers, instead of just griping with other users is: http://www.apple.com/feedback/
@Vatsenko
Thanks, your workaround does help a lot! Until Apple brings the activity window back, it'll have to do.
You said exactly what I wanted to say. That's a shame.

I tried the DL button, it took me to Safari 6.0, so it's dead.
I did however, restore from Time Machine and have my Safari 5.1.7 back - Yeah!
For all the other suggestions that people gave, thank you.
Nothing seemed to work for me, most gave me errors of no videos found on website even though I was watching it, and although I found the Show Page Resources, the best I could do is get it to open another window, but I could not get a download option on anything.
I did take jhfcdxf's advice and submit a formal request to apple.
Thanks again all for your help!
Hit "CMD + Alt + A" to bring it up while safari is open. 😝
EDIT: So after further inspection, this is indeed a different window than the one i'm used too...Apologies
I could'nt agree more either, but either way you would still have to upgrade if you wanted mountain lion, so either way there is no activity window. I wonder if anyone knows of a way to download through the web inspector, something is better than nothing.....:( Not to happy about this....
I did find a decent Youtube downloader for free. It is called MacX Youtube Downloader. It works well, but it only for Youtube videos.
I Can't beleive they got rid of the Activity Window. To be honest that was the only reason I used Safari over Gooogle chrome. This was a huge mistake on Apples Part. I realize its not the only way to download Flash videos but it was by far the easiest way. Why would they make this more time consuming than it needs to be.
BRING BACK THE ACTIVITY WINDOW!
I know that a majority of folks don't like this option but it does work, although it's a bit akward to use........RealPlayer for Mac works until such time Apple adds back the Activity window. I used it last night.

RealPlayer does indeed work. I am downloaded a CNN video right now.
How do you use Chrome to download?
Vic
so, i just found the easiest solution! download "ClickToFlash" and run it. i think you have to restart safari the first time. then just open youtube and any videoplayer will be converted from a FLASH player into an HTML5 player and the file goes from .flv to .mp4. if you have the NON-FLASH player activated, then just right click on the video itself and there are gonna be just 3 options and one of those is "Download Video"
THATS IT 🙂
