Old school drag-and-drop with trackpad no longer possible?

In Mountain Lion, the old-school drang-and-drop trackpad gesture no longer works. That would be double-tab-hold-drag.

There is now an option for a three-finger drag, which is just mind blowingly unnatural.

Is there a preference or special command that can bring back good old trackpad drag and drop?

Thank yuou.

Thank you for this answer. I am new to macbook from a Windows Vista HP system and i liked the three finger drag and select feature but I have had some time when when I needed to select or where I need to go and drop the files was further than the length or width of the touchpad so it got be a real pain to use for those purposes and I had to hook my dell scroll mouse up to use it for drag and drop or multi-selection. I knew there should be a simple answer for what I wanted to do without using the mouse and you have answered that question. It will make things a lot easier for me now.

Thank you.
