Tabs too wide in Safari 6!!

I sure hope someone at Apple (not the developer who gave us this piece of junk Safari 6) is reading the disdain in people's posts with these changes. Maybe something will get done.

Since I moved to a Mac 18 months ago I have been trying to stick with Apple software wherever possible. However, this crazy change which gives me great long tabs unless I have at least 8 tabs on the go is just madness. Why do sofware developers make stupid, stupid changes like this? I can only think it is change for the sake of change, which was something I thought I was getting away from when I kicked Windows into touch. I used to use Firefox on my PCs so the time has come to see what it looks like on Mac.

Just upgraded and the new tabs are horrible on a big screen. Why isn't there a option in the preferences for wide tabs or "classic" tabs? As a workaround, I just hit the ⌘+T keys about five times to create enough blank tabs to make the active ones small enough to read quickly.

Or you can download Firefox (33 megs), or Chrome (43 megs), plus all the third part apps neccesary to integrate them to the OS (contacs, mail, calendar, etc...).

It's amazing how annoying a simple little issue like this can be - I've actually come here to search for a solution and now I've switched to Firefox because of it. Apple makes really silly mistakes sometimes but they don't always seem to want to fix them or give users a choice.

If you can find a way of roling back the sodtware. I stoped this upgrade on my laptop and it's still fine. But Safari 6 on the 27" Mac is a nightmare.. Firefox is the browser of choice on it now..

I switched to Chrome the day this happened and so far so good, not coming back until they fix this..

Also when closing tabs you have to move the mouse around to find the x's... I want to be able to have the mouse be stationary on the second tab and be able to close tab after tab...

I switched my Mac to Chrome just over a month ago because of this. It's brilliant. Also now have it on my iPod Touch (where it is also much better than the equivalent Safari version) and my Windows laptop (where it syncs nicely with the setup on my Mac).

I now have no interest in whether Apple undo this crazy change to Safari.
