I like quite a few things about Safari 6 but the new window-width tabs are not one of them. I've looked in prefs for some way to customise them but didn't see anything. Anyone know a way to set them to the old fixed-width style?
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion
its from iOS not newly designed for Safari 6 on the Mac, and it does not look good on a big screen. 11" MBA maybe but on a 21.5" iMac, no. Not everything will swap so easily between iOS and OS X, thought the design gurus at Apple would have work that one out.
Apple, please revert the tabs to the old FIXED width view!!! PLEASE.

I have a large monitor, and too much movement is involved to do something simple, like clicking on a different tab, or closing tabs.
Please undo this soon!
What were you thinking, Apple?
Cons:
1. I now have to scan across the entire 27" monitor to read my tabs. My neck hurts.
2. I now have to mouse across the entire screen to open a new tab
3. Not easy to see where tabs start and end
4. Not easy to see where the tab label text is

I presume there is a benefit for someone, but this should definitely be an option as it is that bad, I'm downloading Chrome. I'll be back when you sort it out.
Totally agree, the floating-width tabs are a mess.
But, if there's a "Glims" solution, there must be a suitable Terminal command, right? Anyone?
I wonder if the clown that came up with these idiotic wide tabs actually uses Safari??
Was super excited when I got the notification that there was a OSX Update this afternoon.. Installed it and guess what, stupid safari is still stupid, apple is deaf and I am still a Chrome user !!!
