Safari 6 tab width super wide

I agree. The tab width (being a % of the overall width) is ridiculous, and would also like a way to get them back to a fixed, smaller size. Especially on my 27" iMac, where if I have 3 tabs open, I have to move the mouse around 8" to switch between tabs. Not practical at all.

If you go to Safari Preferences, Tabs, you can "revert" to not using Tabs. Does this help?

While we're at it, the "Top Sites" screen now shows the "thumbnails" with very low resolution (using size "Medium"). Has anyone found a way to solve this?

Completely agree. What the **** is the point in these over-long tabs?? It's nowhere near as quick and easy to start a new tab. Ridiculous!

Well, you can use Ctrl+Tab for shuffling across tabs. I share your opinion. Tabs should be equal width regardles of their count.

Hi, I finaly find a solution about big size of tabs in Safari 6. Just install Glims (http://www.machangout.com) and go to left panel > General > Set "Other tabs improvements" to ON. In Left panel choose "Tabs misc." and tick "Set minimum tab label size to favicon size". That's it 🙂 Now Tabs are small and with fixed size. 🙂

I dont want to install this tool only for setting one hidden plist -entry.

Must have been a Microsoft programmer sneaking their way onto the Safari software team. This extra wide tab seems like one of their idiotic ideas.

I am sure Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave right about now with this Safari release!

Yes folks I am fully agree. Floating width of tabs is a nightmare. I have to look for right place to click each time I want to open new tab. One day before I could click anywhere on the unused space in the tabs bar.

We never had this **** while Steve was alive!!!

I found that the best solution withdrawal is to use the keyboard shortcut shift+cmd+\ to open view all tabs open and supports gestures to move between the shortcuts.
