Hmm, when typing those out I forgot the newer machines don't have an eject button. Trying to find modern keyboard shortcuts. ...

I have the same problem, but, when i switch on another user, everything works fine.

Any suggestion about the problem on our own account?

It is possible there is an issue with existing user accounts and upgrading. If others having this issue could confirm with creating a new user account just to test this?

I have same problem. and the shortcuts didn't work on my main account but when I switched to the new account, the shortcuts worked. just like you.

That's some good news at least. Annoying having to move over to a new user account but at least it seems to be fixing the issue for some people.

I guess you should all compare your start-up items in system-preferences->users. The one you have all in common will probably be the cause of this.

Creating a new user/account does fix the problem (if you are willing to move all your files over to a new account).

@soehn - Thats what I was thinking too, but I removed all my startup items and it still didn't work on my original account (removed them, forced shut down, started it up and logged into that account... still didn't work). So, it isn't related to startup items.

Anybody else have any suggestions?

Have you checked ~/Library/LaunchAgents , too?

@soehn - Just cleared everything out of those folders as well (main and user-specific). Good suggestion, but still doesn't seem to fix it. Anything else you can think of?

Just wanted to chime in as I've got the same problem. Upgraded yesterday, since then I can't restart, shut down, ****, I can't even open About this Mac. The shortcuts don't work for me as well. Plus: if I change my account everything's just working fine.

I also deleted everything in my /LaunchAgents (well I moved it to another folder, but you get the idea), cleaned up my start items and checked the console. I also tried Dockables which didn't work either. So yeah, I've got no clue what's going on.
