ichat screen all white when screen sharing

It sure helped me. Tried all the other suggestions here, repair permisions, screen resolution, bandwith, nothing worked. Those files was gold!! Now everything is normal again.

It seems to be simply a matter of incompatible screen resolutions. If you set the screen resolution on both computers to the same (I've used 1024x768) then you can screen share from the imac to the macbook pro. It looks kinda funny, but at least the white screen has been replaced by the imac's screen!

Crazy the issue still isn't resolved. And they even came out with another Apple Remote Desktop version a couple of days ago!

actually i believe 3.6.2 fixes the issue. I did a quick test yesterday and it worked for me (though oddly, the shared screen did not fill my screen, and was surrounded by garbage)

I would like to confirm what Dan posted. The "all white screen when sharing" issue seems to be resolved. I shared my iMac with my sister MacBook Air and she was able to view my screen without me having to change my screen resolutions. Yippie!

I am very glad to see this issue resolved. Screen sharing is a powerful tool that makes my life easier!

For what it's worth… I have just experienced a very similar problem:

The OS X built-in screen sharing (e.g. over Finder, not iChat) stopped working all of a sudden and I would get a white screen. The iMac I was trying to control appeared to work normally though.

I was able to trace this down to the menu option: Screen sharing > View > Adaptive quality

Works with "Full quality", shows white screen when using "adaptive quality". I am currently able to reproduce this.

No idea why this happend now. Everything worked fine a few minutes ago. Kickstarting ARD deamon didn't help either. FYI, I am connecting to a 27" iMac with a 30" display attached over VPN and a 5 MBit/s upload connection. Both computers are still running on 10.8.3.
