Mountain Lion - Mission Control doesn't work after wake up out of sleep mode. How to solve that?

Hi,

I have following problem. Yesterday I installed mountain lion as update on lion.

Now after waking up my Mac out of sleep mode mission control is not working, either the gestures of mission control.

After restarting the Mac it is working again.

Fir gestures I use a track pad.

Thanks for helping...

I just installed Mountain Lion on a MacBook Pro 15" mid 2011 machine. I found that when coming out of sleep mode that Trackpad Gestures and Mission Control were not working. I also noticed that when coming out of sleep mode that the screen saver was still on in the background for just a moment (or more likely frozen). I shut off my screen saver and now both Gestures and Mission Control are working when coming out of sleep mode. This is not a solution just another work around. Hopefully Apple address this when the first Mountain Lion software update. I miss my screen saver! 😟

FYI: I was restarting my machine to make everything work but oddly enough my Desktop Image was not persisting. My Mac would reload the default 10.8 Desktop after restart. I think the Trackpad and Mission Control problem is somehow related to the Desktop and Screen Saver settings.

I can also confirm I'm having the same issue. Running a Mid 2009 MacBook Pro on 10.8.

Mission Control will quit working after prolonged use. However, opening terminal and running the command line "killall Dock" will get mission control back up and running. Hopefully Apple will have a fix for this issue.

Hi,

I have been experiencing the same problems with Mission Control since upgrading to Mountain Lion, and I might have a simpler temporary workaround than a killall dock terminal command. Not sure if this is going to work for all of you, but at least it worked for me.

I simply moved my mouse the the hot corner that manually starts the screen saver. After waking up my system from screensaver mode, Mission Control appears to be working just fine again.

However, I seem to have read, here or somewhere else, that the hot corners do not even work for other people, in which case this workaround may not do the trick for you.

Hopefully though this helps a few of you until Apple fixes the bug.
