Hi,

I have following problem. Yesterday I installed mountain lion as update on lion.

Now after waking up my Mac out of sleep mode mission control is not working, either the gestures of mission control.

After restarting the Mac it is working again.

Fir gestures I use a track pad.

Thanks for helping...

I also have the latest Mac mini, the latest Apple trackpad and an Apple monitor and am having the same very problem of my monitor not waking up from sleep after downloading Mountain Lion.

It is rather amazing that they could not get this right with their own equipment and software. Maybe they should spend less time listening to their own "genius" commercials.

I wonder if it has something to do with the preview window in Finder.

I tried the hot corner tip mentioned in this thread, and when I pressed esc to come back to the desktop, an empty preview window was on my screen. I closed it, but multi-touch gestures still wouldn't work. So I thought maybe something was stealing focus, and selected an icon on the desktop, and then switched focus to an app (Messages). Suddenly, Mission Control and Notification gestures work fine.

So in my case there seemed to be a window (Finder?) somewhere that was stealing focus, blocking the gestures.

Since all the updates including Java 6 make ure that you run disk utilities then check & repair permissions I had a similar problem and it happens occasionally running disk utilities normally cures this also if you put your computer to sleep or just restart the computer sometime the computer likes to be shut down completely then walk away do something else then fire it up often this sorts out niggles as well .

But I repeate run disk utilities regularly especially after software updates or additions!!

I hope that helps.

Which version of iphoto you are using? i have the same problem just like you guys after installed Mountain Lion but after upgraded from iphoto 7 to 11 the problem has been fixed. Not sure why but I accidentally came across this when i was using sldeshow on my old iphoto 7, i realised that since the upgrade the slideshow has changed, the selection was the same as screensaver so i upgraded just to see if it worked and it did.

It seems like that the new OS screensaver only compabtable with the new iphoto 11 but it will cost $11.99.

The problem is intermitent sometimes it happens after forced sleep and then it goes away when the screen saver has finished and the dispay has gone into energy saving mode there seems to be clear cause if I log into another account the trackpad is fine & then log back in the the admin account the problem persists this did happen with Lion intermittantly as well .

The other thing that seems to happen when using VLC or playing radio is that the sound skips occasionally although this does not seem to happen with iTunes .

In answer to Clementskw I have the latest iPhoto although I prefer the more grown up Aperture interface and mainly use photoshop for correction .

So I believe the problem is minor and as someone said I am sure it will be tweaked in an update it is not as if either the sound or the track pad issues effect use. The moral is if you want a steady operating system wait at least until the first update has been released . I know cautious windows users will not update until the first service packs have come out I think that is overkill for OSX!!
