I think we should develop a third party plugin ourself and put in the master track that can prevent the LAG.

    We can make good fortune.

Or can we write a letter to AVid CEO to help us out of this dilemma. Becoz apple respond no more.  Haha.

Getting more and more ill-logic-al everyday.  I think of sleeping next to Sid Barrett.

I think Avid's CEO is a little busy at the moment.....

True, new purchasers are going to possibly have a problem (not everyone does) running 10.8.2, but no real Pro is going to run out and drop 3 or 4 grand on a new systems and the latest Logic unless they've seen it in action and it's been proven. If someone does jump in and expect everything to work, they're a rube!

    - NOT TRUE!  As a professional with a business I waited as long as I could but really had to upgrade my hardware in mid-2012.  I had waited many years already.

Then it's your own fault for not checking out the current state of performance and stability. If you look at my posts over the past few years you would find that I've been extremely hard on Apple, I do not like what they've done with Logic, they've cheapened and somewhat neglected it and still, on the strength of the eMagic team, it's still one of the most creative MIDI/Audio systems available. I was the first one on this board to say that Logic has NOT been competently beta tested with either Lion or Mountain Lion. Since Logic runs perfectly well on Snow Leopard people need to take Apple to task by calling them, and/or letting them know by not purchasing their hardware. Apple is a hardware company, they make their money by selling hardware. (although Apps have been lucrative) Apple software is designed to sell hardware, a Mac is the new dongle (protection key) for Logic. They reduced Logic to an extremely low price (eMagic sold it for $999) to attract new hardware purchasers and now we have a whole new group of clueless Logic users that apparently can't read or understand a manual much less figure out what to do with their new toy software.

Even though I'm not particularly fond of Apple, I will always side with common sense. Any user that depends on an expensive product to make a living and does not thoroughly investigate it's current state before purchasing is asking for problems. There's also the fact that the Lag problem doesn't affect all machines, that makes the fix all the more difficult.

    You have choices.

    1. Then either call Apple and complain to an actual Apple employee who cares.

    2. Stop purchasing Apple hardware and software.

Complaining here did little to fix the problem, has it? It's only the moderators that see these posts although I have seen an Apple employee wander through here occasionally.

Here's how you take 100 posts and find useful info.  You cut off the bottom 25 that say everything is wonderful and that Logic is the best software ever written, then you cut off the top 25 ranters and whiners who only want to hear themselves complain. In the 50 posts left you might find some information that would help make Logic a better program. If your ethics prevent you from making a comprehensive detailed report to Apple then I would say they're not serving you very well.

I see the legal option was edited out of my post, ah... well, C'est la vie.

People seem to forget (or just don't know) that this is not actually an Apple Support forum.. but an Apple Users support forum... It's an important difference.....

For the most part posts here are only read and answered by other Users and not Apple Support itself... and so complaining and/or threatening to "go to another DAW' is like 'water off a ducks back' to most of the people here.. because.. frankly, most Users don't care.

If Logic doesn't work for you.. and the other users here.. cannot assist you...then do as Pancenter just suggested...

    1. Then either call Apple and complain to an actual Apple employee who cares.

    2. Stop purchasing Apple hardware and software.

...because in all reality.. those are your two best solutions...

“additional time for the Company to evaluate its current and historical accounting treatment related to bug fixes, upgrades and enhancements to certain products which the Company has provided to certain customers.”

should they take a look of how Avid operate?

It's not wasting time. It's ventilation. Very "constructive" for mental health.

Logic 9 is very much a frankenstine of code to get it work flawlessly such as other sequencers (namley Studio one) but what's to say they v9 is just a matter of patching the holes and X will be fresh code
