Mouse cursor disappears.

Can't confirm.

I only have the disappearing cursor in Photoshop CS6.

(I do not use multiple screens, other than normal cursor size setting etc.)

I did a clean Install of Mountain Lion.

No Migration Assistant used at all.

The cursor will disappear quite often.

As far as I realized it is always when cursor moved above canvas at the very moment when it enters the palette windows. (When it would change the appearance letz say from brush to the arrow)

I then go to the dock - it is enough to let the dock pop up - and back to Photoshop everything is fine for a certain time. That may happen every few minutes.

A friend has the same issue under 10.7 Lion since he moved to Photoshop CS6...

Islandphotographer: Like you, I have Mountain Lion, I use CS6 Photoshop everyday, did a clean install without migration assistant -- but I don't have the dissappearing mouse anymore. Since this is not a universal problem for all Mac users, I suspect there's a third-party system app file conflict somewhere or corrupt plist file.

My solution came about the same time I was dealing with another bug. Perhaps fixing one problem solved my dissappearing mouse issue. The problem was that my computer kept going to sleep and the solution turned out to be a conflict with Transmit (an ftp download app) menu bar feature. I deleted the application support feature (finder pull menu GO with Option key held down to access library application suppport; then trashed Transmit menu bar app and rebooted) while some people in this forum said they just turned it off.

Just a thought: Maybe re-do a clean install and introduce 3rd-party apps until you see the problem again.

A quick question, is anyone using the following apps/tweaks?

- Mousefixer (script)

- Menumeters

- cyborg Rat (driver)

- Wacom Tablet (driver)

Since we are looking for a 3rd-party app, maybe we all have one in common.

I use:

- iStat Menus Version 3.27 (not Menumeters)

- Wacom Tablet driver v6.3.4-3

and I use:

- Wacom Tablet driver v6.3.1w2

and have the problem in Photoshop CS5 under OS 10.8.2

I didn't use any of those. I had various utility apps and MS Office. None of which were reinstalled. Once they were gone after an install; so was my mouse problem. Maybe try disengaging login items and apps that automatically launch. Boot by holding down shift key. See if the problem occurs without your start up items.

I had Office 2008 and then Office 2011 installed on my iMac. I don't recall when the cursor problem started but I think it was after that and after I sync'd up my iMac and a surviving Dell monitor. I was able to change which two sides of the screen that my cursor escapes past but it seems to randomly jump/disappear without me taking it out of bounds.

It's simpler than this. Use the color picker tool in the colors menu in any iWork application (e.g. Pages '09).

Works every time for me.

The cursor disappears and the best way to get it back is CMD+Tab to another application, then back and the cursor reappears.

I have another Mac running the same version of iWork but an earlier OS (10.5.8) and no problem - ever.

Come on Apple, this cannot be rocket science.

Also, am I the only one experiencing sever slowdown problems with OSX 10.7.5? I have a MBP 15-inch Early 2008 model.

PLEASE EVERYBODY stop posting "i have the same problem or same here" until someone post a solution. you create tons of pages for everyone to search and loose our time with no answers. OK you have the same problem, im having the same problem but what? you want sympathy? if there is no answer in this post, its completely useless!!!

I have experienced the same mouse disappearing issue with my mother's computer, I checked the mouse battery and it was 100% but when I decided to check the Keyboard battery % I found that it was down to 14% though there were no keyboard issues that I was aware of. Could this be related to the mouse issue? I changed the batteries on the wireless keyboard and so far, fingers crossed, there has not been a further recurrance with the mouse, but time will tell.

It happens to me when I am watching a movie from iTunes Store and my TV is connected to my Macbook Air by a HDMI cable (mirroring).

Need to right click on Trackpad many times to be able to see the mouse pointer again.

Very annoying.

I am having the exact same proble...I cannot take it anymore...is there a fix for this??? My cursor constantly disappears in photoshop and it only started after I upgraded to Mountain Lion....😠

Doesnt seem to be related to the type or state of charge of keyboard or mouse. Happens on my macbook when using its trackpad. Also on imac with wired keyboard and mouse. This is something to do with the way certain apps handle mouse input. ML has broken something.
