Can you set a due date in Reminders on Mountain Lion?

It seems that there is no way to set a due date for a task in Reminders on Mountain Lion. In Lion in iCal you could set a Due Date that was different than the reminders you could set for a task. It seems obvious to me that reminders are different than due dates. Reminders can occur multiple times leading up to and on the due date (and perhaps even after a due date), but it is helpful to set a due date. Hopefully Apple will bring this functionality over to Reminders from the Lion version of iCal, as this is a downgrade in this one respect for me.

For anyone who like me stumbles on this thread while looking for a workaround to add "due dates" (as separate from "remind me on" date) in Reminders, I've tried everything including Automator and Applescripts solutions you can google ("mac reminders due date automator/applescript") but they either didn't work, or worked but required further steps to change the due date manually, until I found the simplest solution already available as a small app on the Mac App Store, it's called "Remind Me" and it's FREE.

It does just that, add a reminder, showing you all the fields you can edit, including due date, and it can be set with a shortcut in keyboard preferences so it's really handy. In that way it works sort of like a Service - and unlike the Automator Service suggestions I'd found, it does work.
