Safari 6 - Google docs spreadsheet not functioning

I upgraded to Safari 6 and now can view, but not make entries or changes to any of my Google Doc spreadsheets. 😟

I have not upgraded to Mountain Lion, but noted in the Google Doc Discussion Forum at Google that someone else has posted there that they were having the same problem with their Google Doc spreadsheets when they upgraded to Safari 6, but they had upgraded to Mountain Lion.

So the problem appears to be with Safari 6 and not related to Mountain Lion.

Everything works fine with my Google Doc spreadsheets when I switch to and use Firefox 13.0.1.

Mac OS X (10.7.4)

I upgraded to Safari 6 while still running Lion (latest version). I have since experienced problems with Google Spreadsheets while using Safari 6. I have since upgraded to Mountain Lion with Safari 6 and the problem persists. It is a Safari 6 problem.

Using Chrome on Lion or Mountain Lion and Google Docs and Spreadsheets work without a problem - As you would expect.

Just confirming that I am having the same issue with Safari 6 after upgrading to Mountain Lion. The Google Docs spreadsheet we use in my company to track customers connection info often opens in a sort of frozen state. Often I will also receive a message to reload my broswer:

Not really too happy with the new Safari. This is just one issue I am dealing with.

I can confirm that the issue is not Mountain Lion but Safari 6. We still use Lion (not Mountain Lion) at work but I just updated to Safari 6 and then things started acting strangely. It was working perfectly for months before. I can usually get the first tab of a Google Doc to load but subsequent tabs that I click on will often be completely blank and the option to click the other tabs at the bottom are gone.

lol, as I was typing this, Firefox just suddenly quit on me. On the plus side, when I came back in here to retype it all, there was some recovery feature - is that built into Firefox or is Apple recording (on their server) my words as I type them? Anyhow, strange but very happy the "feature" exists whatever mechanism saved my text.

I think I might have an idea as to what is causing the problem although I don't know how it can be fixed by the end user. I read in some other Forums where Facebook was very slow to load in Safari 6.0. Someone there posted that if you were using a secure connection (https) to Facebook and using Safari 6.0, it was slow, but if you changed your settings to a non-secure (http) connection to Facebook, everything was much faster there.

I changed my settings on Facebook to non-secure and presto! everything there was faster. I also noticed on the Google Doc spreadsheet page that it is also using a secure connection (https).

So my suspicion is that the problem is with how Safari 6.0 is handling encryted web pages. 😟

I also had this problem and went searching. This site seemed to do the trick (it's in Turkish or something, but the pictures are fairly explanatory on their own): http://www.gozupek.com/apple/mac/safari-6-ile-google-spreadsheets-sorunu-ve-cozu mu/

One thing I also had to do after trying this and it NOT working was to clear my cache. Once I did, it worked fine. Not the best solution but perhaps a temporary fix for those in a bind (as I was).
