I think that Apple has stopped the screensaver by retrina displays. That asking too much power. A screen saver on multiple monitors works Mavericks so I see there's no coming back
@Albert: how do you do that ? Can you provide a link to the feedback tool: is there a thread we can post on and add our voice, or is each feedback a separate thing ?
Seeya,

I just sent another one, its www.apple.com/feedback Follow the instructions, but be sure to put in your OS and the iMac.
Good idea to send it monthly.
And get your friends to send the Mosaic request also, the more the merrier!
Thanks for your answer.
This is what I just did (feel free to copy/paste):
The original Mosaic screensaver was dropped with 10.8, but could still reinstalled by getting the DesktopScreenEffectsPref.prefPane and ScreenSaver.framework from an earlier 10.7 install.
Unfortunately, this hack isn't possible anymore with Mac OS 10.9.
Can you please fix this and bring us back that wonderful mosaic effect ?
Please note that I'm not talking about the one included in Mavericks: that one doesn't reconstruct pictures from myriads of other pictures like the original one did.
I opened it under the OS X section.

Pacifist (free download) makes this much easier. The files you're looking for are in the Essentials package of the Snow Leopard installation.
Ah, thanks! I'd like to add that you cannot use the Snow Leopard files to do this. You must use the Lion files. I learned the hard way.
...and even still, it doesn't work on Mavericks. You've gotta stay on Mountain Lion pre 10.8.3, yeah? What a bummer. This was the best screensaver ever, really showcased some beautiful brilliance, and impressed lots of passersby. Great way to sell someone on a Mac. And Apple removed it 😟
I sure agree, many of my friends were really impressed when they saw both my Macs running this great screensaver. Especially with some of my beautiful sunset pictures.
I am sure that some of my friends were so impressed that they went right over to our local Mac store?
Anyway, this computer right here, is my old one, and I have it running most all the time.
Apple, please listen and just bring this one back in your new OS? I cannot think of one single reason for you not to include it. You even have the code to do it, just have to make it compatible with the new one.
Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
It seems to be working in 10.8.5 for me, but I'm not sure if it's stable. It didn't show my iPhoto library until the third time I opened System Preferences, which is a bad sign.
THANK YOU!!! I just restored Mosaics after switching to ML… When I want to check the screensaver preferences it asks me to close and re-open sys pref… I guess it has to use a different set of preferences… it's a small price to pay!
I cannot believe Apple removed my favorite-ever screensaver! "Dying of improvement" is an affliction that is rampant everywhere else… so disappointing that Apple has it too...
