EPSON CX5600 PRINTER DOESN'T WORK AFTER MOUNTAIN UPDATE

Hello Dear,


I've using my Epson Stylus CX5600 for a long time with OSX 10.7 Lion on my Mac.


The printer is connected in another computer (Windows 7) and I can print fine from my macbook air


After my system update for OSX Mountain Lion yesterday, my printer works fine only on Windows computer


on my macbook doesn't works anymore


I've re-installed a lot but when I try to print the sheets appears in blank


The driver-version available in Mountain Lion is 1.5


I guess this is the problem and need a urgent correction driver update


I'm looking forward to the internet and Epsons websites but didn't find nothing,

in Epson website doesn't


Can you help me please?

The latest Epson driver for CX5600 is supposed to be of version 9.0. If yours is of version 1.5, it's most likely that your driver is from a totally different source. Try to remove the current printer queue on your mac (System Preferences -> Print & Scan -> highlight the queue and click the "-" button), delete the driver on your disk (notice, removing the printer queue doesn't actually delete the driver, you need to find the actual driver on the disk, most likely inside the /Library/Printers directory, make sure you also delete the regarding driver piece in /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources directory), then re-setup your queue, you should get a chance to install the latest Epson driver via Apple's Software Update mechanism.

I've got your suggestions and could install the driver for my printer in 9.0 version. thanks


The printer works like a charm when is connected directly on my mac book air


But, I need to print through another computer (PC) with Windows 7 (like before).


Now the error message has changed for: Stopped - `Filter' Failed


Could you help me again please?

Hi Facoriolano, thanks for asking, I am fine. Hope everything are fine with you, too, other than this printer. 🙂


SMB sharing related operations have never been near to perfect on Mac OS X, mostly because SMB is a propriatery protocol Microsoft owns and has a lot of different varieties. For you situation, instead of figuring out how to get your printer working fine again via SMB sharing, I would suggest you to share your printer via Bonjour, using Apple's "Bonjour for Windows" software. I've tryed Bonjour, but only works Windows to install a print for Mac.


I need the opposite... print from Mac to Windows.


Yes, I've a lot of problems to install a printer on Lion, but after 3 days I got success 🙂


I can't remember but I did this:


1. In iMac System Preferences->Print&Fax->"+"

2. In "Add Printer" click and Tool Bar->Customize Toolbar...

3. Add "Advanced" to Tool Bar and click "Done"

4. Click Advanced->Type->LPD/LPR Host or Printer

5. URL: lpd//user:pw@192.168.0.1/EPSON%20Stylus%20CX5600&20Services

6. Printer Using->Select Printer Software... (EPSON Stylus CX5600 Services)


I did this and on Lion works fine. But now on Mountain Lion I can install, but I've received the error message


Do you have any idea?

no. The printer was succesfull installed but when you click to print receive a message (the third picture) in the same link: http://goo.gl/jBNpz


Now I'm think is a problem on OSX Mountain Lion because I did the same process on Lion 10.7 and works fine until the update to Mountain Lion 10.8


I don't now what do now, any idea my friend?
