EPSON CX5600 PRINTER DOESN'T WORK AFTER MOUNTAIN UPDATE

Hello Dear,

I've using my Epson Stylus CX5600 for a long time with OSX 10.7 Lion on my Mac.

The printer is connected in another computer (Windows 7) and I can print fine from my macbook air

After my system update for OSX Mountain Lion yesterday, my printer works fine only on Windows computer

on my macbook doesn't works anymore

I've re-installed a lot but when I try to print the sheets appears in blank

The driver-version available in Mountain Lion is 1.5

I guess this is the problem and need a urgent correction driver update

I'm looking forward to the internet and Epsons websites but didn't find nothing,

in Epson website doesn't

Can you help me please?

Hi,

I'm having the same problems setting up an Epson SX435.

The printer is connected to the office Dell Laptop, via usb.

I come and go out of the office so need to be able to print when i'm there.

we're all connected via etherent.

The printer shows up under the windows tab when setting it up and the produces the "Stopped - 'Filter' failed" Error message when i try and print.

I have only tired setting up this printer after upgrading to mountain lion so I can't say if it worked before.

AtOl_Mike, can you please also run the command I mentioned earlier (in Terminal, type "cupsctl --debug-logging", then hit <return>), reproduce the problem and reattach the error_log file?

Okay, it seems that the very latest Epson driver update screwed it up. Unfortunately there is no place you can download the older versions anywhere. I would instead try the gutenprint driver.

Install it, remove your current queue on the Mac, set it up again, but choose the "xxx-gutenprint" option in the "Using" popup menu in the AddPrinter dialog.

Actually, this copy of gutenprint driver from Apple only allows you to install it on SnowLeopard, though there are methods to change the package and let it install on Mountain Lion, but it is easier to simply download it from gutenprint official site:
