After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I cannot convert Chinese characters anymore

I used to be able to convert Traditional Chinese to Simplified Chinese and vice versa in OS X Lion. After I upgraded it to Mountain Lion, I cannot do so anymore. It just keeps asking to run the service which I have already done it. After clicking "Run service" nothing happened.

Any help please

Thank you in advance

Dear Tom and all,

Problem not fixed yet, it's quite frustrate.

I focus on

1. to create another service from auomtator to call the service /System/Library/Services/ChineseTextConverterService.app

but it's quite diffiuclt to do it.

2. try to some free translate apps installed with Services providing but still call the apps to translate from its interface, not metaphrase the content in Word.

If any idea, pls provide. Many thanks.

I couldn't figure it out either (same problems persisted in Mavericks). And just now I spent three hours only for copy and paste from Open Office since my translation case requires delivery in heavily formatted docx file type.

So I have two options: to roll back to Snow Leopard or to install Windows and Office via Virtual Box. I think I'll have to install Windows Office.

But if you figured out a way, please let us know. Many of us are in the same boat. Thx.

Yes, I tried LibreOffice. It seems to have problems opening files involving tables and/or macro-setting, at least with the 2 files I've tried with. Also even if it opens nicely a file containing tables and bullet points, the Chinese conversion changes the format so it becomes even more time-consuming fixing it, not to mention frustrating.

Someone at the Chinese support site you linked to claimed that the reason this feature was removed from Pages due to the rewrite of iWork applications, and he/she believes it will be reintroduced soon (the person referred to this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6049?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US). If that is the case it means we will need to wait for a new release of Office for Mac with this feature enabled.

I think it was missing from Office for Mac long before the new iWork came out.
