Sorry for the long header, but this is my first question.

 

Today, for no apparent reason, my iCloud inbox/sent items/junk/trash everything has disappeared from all my devices.  I checked iCloud, and there's nothing up there either.  I did not delete all my email, either intentionally or by accident.

 

Meanwhile, iCloud is now working again, but all the old mails are gone, I'm hoping not forever.

 

How do I recover all this missing material, which is essential both to my business and personally?

    This sounds as if you need the attentions of MobileMe Support (I know you're on iCloud but there is no free support for that unless you happen to have AppleCare, and MobileMe Support have helped some people). Go to http://www.apple.com/support/mobileme/ww/ and select your country. In the next window click on a category to expand it, then on a subject to get a link to 'live chat'.

    The same happened to me today. I-cloud is working but all my old mails have dissapeared completely.

    I thought the point of i-cloud was to have an online backup?

    Would be greatful to hear if you found a solution as none of their helplines are any help...

    iCloud backs up only your iOS device. However old mails should not have disappeared from the server. I suggest you contact Support as indicated in my post above.

    I'm in the same position - this morning all my emails on iCloud have vanished.

     

    Luckily I  use an IMAP account in Entourage to keep copies on my machine, and I have a backup where all the emails are still visible. But if I connect ot iCloud using entourage they all vanish from entourage as well, so until this is resolved I cannot connect using entourage.

     

    I have another iCloud account I hardly use, and that's working fine. Similarly my wife's account is also working fine - all her emails are visible in iCloud and in entourage.

     

    Anybody had a successul way of dealing with this ?

    happened to me as well. all previous mails are gone. my mail aliases is not showing up as well in icloud.com.

    rest of icloud features are working fine. spoke to apple support a couple hours ago and they are investigating.

    I just spoke to someone at the support team who after checking my account passed me on to a person higher up who was very sorry to tell me that all my mails have somehow dissapeared even from the server !!!! If this is the improved safety of icloud this is the beginning of the end. Hope you will get your mails back.

    Hi there, this happened to me too.

     

    All Folders structures and mails just disappeared from iPhone/MacBook Pro/iPad. How can this happen and first of all how to bring the structure back? Just a few hours before everything was working fine.

    all of my emails and folder structures were in place about an hour ago but now nothing.

    I haven't ben home yet to see if they have dissappeared from the iMac / iPad / Macbook Pro

     

    Do we know if this is reversable? or have Apple washed their hands with it with an insincere 'sorry'?

    Just noticed the same thing with my email account... WHERE IS ALL OF MY EMAIL!!!!!!

    I'm on the phone with Apple Support.  The tech says he's not heard anything about this, but assures me that my emails have not disappeared forever, and that they do back up their servers.  Let's hope he's right.  The rest of you get on the phones so they realize "Cupertino, we have a problem".
