Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Mountain Lion has random freezes. The mouse still works but the graphics go glitchy and i can't click on anything. I have to hold the power to restart.

Since installing mountain lion about a week ago on my late 2008 unibody 15" macbook pro, i'm experiencing random lockups where the graphics go glitchy and i can only move the mouse, but clicking does not work.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hi for those of you suffering from this and unable to "unfreeze" the computer, I've discovered that for me at least, short of turning off the whole computer, that by unplugging my monitor from the power source and plugging it back in does the trick.... Not sure why but it works. This bug must have something to do with the graphics card an maybe unplugging the monitor forces the graphic card to release and reset....Apple please fix...this is obviously not an isolated incident.

What can I "learn" and "repair" from this log?

PS: Nice apps you have on sale on your page. I might be interested in the "feed" later. Thanks!

The only one of these that I have seen before is the "Soundflower" extension. I am familiar with "Soundflower" because it is always present in kernel panic logs and reports from people having problems. I know nothing about the other three extensions. If you are experiencing problems, I suggest you remove them by using the vendors' uninstallers.

Autocad seems to be having trouble. Depending on how bad it is flailing, it could be causing problems. Adobe is always a source of problems. You don't need any "clean up" software. Get rid of that. Again, I don't know if that SplashTop software is compatible or not. I frequently see the TeamViewer software listed from people reporting problems. I have no idea what it is or why you would want it.

Mac users don't need "clean up" or antivirus software.

You will have to identify the software that installed it. In most cases, just read the name of the file in reverse to find the vendor. Then, track down an uninstaller or uninstallation instructions from the vendor. In a worst-case scenario, people here can give you Terminal instructions on how to remove those files, but it is best to try to use the proper uninstaller first.

Hi all, my macbook pro suffered from the dreaded black screen on Lion and It ended in my getting a free logic board replacement from Apple(through a premium reseller).

This seems to be the same issue. As I tried Mountain Lion and it crashed randomly. I checked the error stack on my machine and it was again with the Resman process for the graphics drivers that was causing the issue.

Can anyone confirm this is also the logic board issue. Surely apple is not ruining there own business with each new OS release? :/

It does sound the same though.

Symptoms are random graphics card crashes leaving blank screen, keyboard backlight still on. (sound buffer will loop infinitely too if audio was playing)

I had tried all the tricks last time when it did this on Lion, gfxCardStatus set to integrated, no external screen, as it would trigger the crash. I also editied the power management kernel extensions etc.

Please confirm this issue as I would like to be able to upgrade as I want. (thanks apple)

Add me to the list.

I have been experiencing this same problem since upgrading to Mountain Lion. With iStat Menus, I see my graphics RAM at 100% usage at all times. I also get the random freezes at least once per day. Extremely annoying! During one of these freezes, an OS file must have become corrupted, because the system couldn't recognize my home folder anymore (which is set up as RAID). I had to do a complete fresh install to fix it. NOT impressed!

Has anyone had the chance to test out 10.8.1 -- has this issue been fixed? I sure hope so.

Mountain Lion has random freezes. The mouse still works but the graphics go glitchy and i can't click on anything. I have to hold the power to restart.
