Hi,
When I open folders and close them in launchpad I get some graphic glitches or artifacts on top of the screen. There is a screenshot for better understanding.
Details: It doesn't happen when I change the graphic card from Intel to Nvidia. It only happens on Intel. I have MBP retina display and installed Mountain Lion. I don't think it was before on Lion but not sure.

Also icons have some circle shadows around them in gray background. This one in both graphic cards.
UPDATE:
I did these things and still has glitches or whatever the name is in Intel HD:
1. SMC reset (I don't know why I just did it)
2. PRAM reset.
3. Reinstall Mountain Lion
It's really annoying. I hope nothing's wrong with the hardware and it's only a driver issue which btw don't know what to do.
Hey, I'm experiencing the exact same problem. I don't have any other problems other than this, but of course I'm concerned that it may be a graphics card issue with the integrated card.
Do you have any other problems?

Hi, I don't have any other problem at all. Just this one that I have some kind of a solution to at least solve it for a while.
Press Control+Option+Command+B when you in Launchpad to change the background effect to B/W. And the problem is gone.
You restart or you back to the default background effect the problem still there.
And honestly I don't know what to do.
Yeah, that fixes it if its black and white or with no blur effect. I guess it's a launchpad issue with the integrated card. I guess I shouldn't be too concerned as my machine runs perfectly well other than for that.

Yes there is nothing here to be worried about. It's definitely a driver issue or some buggy software that makes this thing with HD Intel Graphic card.
But I will do the clean installation later this month when I'm done with my projects. I hope clean ML installation do the trick and solve it otherwise with should wait until 10.8.1 publicly release and hope that solves it.

I have the same problem! I just recieved my Macbook yesterday with Mountain Lion pre-installed and the weird flickering at the top of launchpad seems to be the only issue. I'm suprised no one else has commented on this issue and I can't seem to find any additional information about it.
I also have the same graphics glitches in my Macbook Pro Retina, and using a clean installation of Mountain Lion doesn't help at all. I'm just wondering does this happen only on Retina machine, or all Intel HD4000 machines, including 2012 air?
I don't know about them but I just updated to 10.8.1 and problem is still here. Didn't solve it at all.
Same thing right here. Don't know what to think of it since a lot of reports on various graphical issues with MBP-R.
Though there's also been a lot of issues with Mountain Lion with graphics.
It would be nice to know if someone on a different system is experiencing the same.
Hey everyone. I went to the Apple Store yesterday when I was at the mall specifically to check if the display models had the same issue. Every single Retina MacBook Pro had this issue in launchpad when opening a folder. I'm sure that not every model there has a graphical issue. It seems to me as if its a firmware issue that can be fixed via an update in the future.

Yeah I'm not too worried. Since the more widely spread flickering issue is apparently occurring also on '09, '10 and '11 MBP's.
Hoping that all of these graphics issues are just ML or firmware issues. Obviously not the image retention on certain display panels though.
This is just one of the problems that I have on my early 2011 MBP.
Boot up screen. Same issue occurs in other apps as well.

the problem is still there and by the way, I really would appreciate more OpenGL 3.3+ Extensions for my GT650 and HD4000. There are many more problems with the current Drivers, see Rage in App Store for example...
