can i install windows xp on OS X Lion bootcamp?

I read somewhere that Windows 7 can only install of OS X Lion. I have very limited knowledge on Mac OS. Is that mean Windows XP can't be installed on OS X Lion?

MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion

Oh, it appears that you have a 2011 13-inch Pro, which utilizes Intel HD3000 graphics. Unfortunately, I can't help you on that one. My solutions would apply to systems that use discreet NVIDIA or AMD GPUs. Sorry.
