I've been trying to get this issue fixed on my iPhone 6 almost all day. I never use headphones and my phone has never had any water or physical damage. I tried SO MANY things and what finally worked for me was this.. HOLD DOWN THE VOLUME UP AND DOWN BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME, WHILE STILL HOLDING THESE DO A HARD RESET. SO ALL THE STEPS YOU WILL DO AT THE SAME TIME ARE HOLD DOWN THE VOLUME UP AND DOWN BUTTONS WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE HOME BUTTON AS WELL AS THE BUTTON ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR PHONE. ONCE YOU SEE THE WHITE SCREEN WITH THE APPLE YOU CAN LET GO OF ALL BUTTONS. THIS SHOULD FIX THE ISSUE! I really hope this saves someone a lot of the hassle I've been through!!
all I have to say is that IT WORKS.
sucked air and used a roller tissue.
Although this is long to read you'll thank me later
First of all i tried all the methods that had worked for people on here...and nothing worked to my frustration.
I then rang my mum too tell her is she called me i might not hear it because my iPhone is playing up and not ringing out loud. I rang my mum with my headphones in (only way i could use my phone), while i was on the phone i noticed the "loud speaker" button, and pressed it. And my iPhone took the call on loud speaker! I then unplugged my headphones and turned off loud speaker and IT WORKED AGAIN!
So to break it up.....
-Ring someone with your headphones in
-put the call on loud speaker
- unplug your headphones
-take the call off loud speaker
Thanks... that worked for me, although I simply circled the extended paper clip gently with only one leg, not two. It freed up the ball(s) and is working now!
Thanks! Q tip worked!
Awesome! Thank you! I tried so many other things and was starting to despair at the thought my volume would not work without headphones or bluetooth. Paperclip worked like a charm.
OMG, you are a life saver!! I left my phone in my back pocket and forgot about it and it fell in the toilet this morning. I tried the can of air, the blow dryer, plugging in and unplugging my headphones a million times, turning it off, and was about to do a reset but nothing worked. I was really nervous about sticking anything in there like a lot of articles suggested, but your saying it could take a little abuse and explaining about the balls gave me the confidence and I had it fixed in seconds!! I was thinking that because of water damage sticking something in there wouldn't work, but the ball thing made sense and that is what it was! THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🙂
This saved me a trip to a shop to get it sorted out, thanks so much!
Worked like a charm! Thanks!
I cleaned the headphone jack with a Qtip and it worked!
This worked!!! THANKS SO MUCHHH!!!
I just discovered that phone will get stuck in the headphones mode when the Voice Command (Microphone for keyboard) is disabled. Just enable the voice control back and wow - the speaker phone will be back on.
I had the same problem, but it got solved by cleaning headphone jack of my phone by inserting the rolled tissue paper and gentally moving it inside the jack.
Thanks, that worked!
Okay i had the exact same problem with water damage but all you need to do is go to settings and click vioceover in the top and enable it this will instantky trick your phone somehow and creat sound mine happened only today and i had tried everything pls leave a like it worked
