I've been trying to get this issue fixed on my iPhone 6 almost all day. I never use headphones and my phone has never had any water or physical damage. I tried SO MANY things and what finally worked for me was this.. HOLD DOWN THE VOLUME UP AND DOWN BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME, WHILE STILL HOLDING THESE DO A HARD RESET. SO ALL THE STEPS YOU WILL DO AT THE SAME TIME ARE HOLD DOWN THE VOLUME UP AND DOWN BUTTONS WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE HOME BUTTON AS WELL AS THE BUTTON ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR PHONE. ONCE YOU SEE THE WHITE SCREEN WITH THE APPLE YOU CAN LET GO OF ALL BUTTONS. THIS SHOULD FIX THE ISSUE! I really hope this saves someone a lot of the hassle I've been through!!

Although this is long to read you'll thank me later

First of all i tried all the methods that had worked for people on here...and nothing worked to my frustration.

I then rang my mum too tell her is she called me i might not hear it because my iPhone is playing up and not ringing out loud. I rang my mum with my headphones in (only way i could use my phone), while i was on the phone i noticed the "loud speaker" button, and pressed it. And my iPhone took the call on loud speaker! I then unplugged my headphones and turned off loud speaker and IT WORKED AGAIN!

So to break it up.....

-Ring someone with your headphones in

-put the call on loud speaker

- unplug your headphones

-take the call off loud speaker

OMG, you are a life saver!! I left my phone in my back pocket and forgot about it and it fell in the toilet this morning. I tried the can of air, the blow dryer, plugging in and unplugging my headphones a million times, turning it off, and was about to do a reset but nothing worked. I was really nervous about sticking anything in there like a lot of articles suggested, but your saying it could take a little abuse and explaining about the balls gave me the confidence and I had it fixed in seconds!! I was thinking that because of water damage sticking something in there wouldn't work, but the ball thing made sense and that is what it was! THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🙂
