How do I remove my credit card information from my iPad?

I purchased an app not too long ago. Everything went well. I have recently tried to install an app but I am unable. A message pops up stating that I have to log into my account due to payment information changes. It tells me my security code for my credit card is incorrect. I typed it in (the same code that I had used before, of course) and it still says it is incorrect. I no longer wish to have my credit card information on my account. There is no money on the credit card right now. Am I being charged? The purchase was a one time thing. It was a game. I have since deleted the app. Someone, help. I am now uncomfortable with this situation and would rather not deal with being on hold or having to explain again what has happened. Thank you.

If it's available on your account it will show on the payment details screen next to the card types ; if it doesn't show do any of the scenarios in the second link in my reply immediately above your post apply ?

Go into the iTunes Store, select "Account" from the right hand side, enter your password, select "Edit" on payment information, and then select "None" from the choices that you see on that page.

Thank you. But unfortunately, it is not giving me that option. I do believe my security code has finally been set in, but I still do not want my card information on my account. I suppose I will have to call for support. Thank you for your time :)

I do not have that option either :( I have the iPad 2, iOS 5.1.1. (if that means anything) I am doing everything you both have told me, and still no "none" option for either method. I apologize.

if apple id was created initially w/ a credit card normally editing it by following the above steps won't work

i haven't tried this my self but a fiend told me that this is his workaround:

go to settings > iCloud > tap on your apple ID > go to payment information > there should be a 'none' button there

pls tell me if it worked 🙂

I'm sorry. It did not work due to me not having a none button option. I am at a loss. And frustrated. Lol. I will call support tomorrow and post what they told me for future reference and guidance for others. Thank you all.

I tried my security code again. It went through! Then, I went back into my account and there it was, the none option! Thank you all for your suggestions! {^-^}

It worked for me! The "none" part is where you choose Visa, MC etc.. you have the option of None.
