Photo Booth audio and video out of sync

Hi everyone.

I tried recording a video three times today on Photobooth, and every time, the audio and video are out of sync. Does anyone have any solutions as to how I can fix this? Its ever since I downloaded Mountain Lion.

Thankyou.

I also have the same exact issue. I just bought my first Mac computer ever....the MacBook Air...one month ago. I was so excited about the having Apple's superior technology for video! Now I've been going through this crap. About to try all the solutions recommended above.

I also have another issue...with I try to upload a video directly to youtube using "Record from Webcam" it makes the audio sound choppy like a robot. Anyone else have this happen? Thanks.

I have a 27" Imac that I purchased in November 2011. It had Lion installed and I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion. I only tested Photobooth once when I first had the machine and it worked. Haven't needed it since till now. I tried recording and had the same issues as everyone in this string. I resolved it simply by quiting Skype, Itunes and VLC player. It seems to have done the trick as I have done 3 short test videos and all ok. I had to force quit Skype but I think closing an app which shares the built in video camera and mic did it.

I just spoke with an Apple Care tech about the out of synch audio issue in Photo Booth (they had never heard of it at the Apple Store), and he came up with an easy fix:

1. Go up to the upper right corner of your screen and click on the Spotlight icon and type in "audio." The first result should be "Audio MIDI Setup." Choose that.

2. When the Audio Devices window opens, you should see two choices in the left column. Highlight "Built-in Microphone."

3. In the right window, choose the "Input" tab (the other is grayed out).

4. Under "Source: Internal Microphone" you should see two drop-down boxes next to the word "Format." In the left one, choose "44100.0Hz"; in the right, select "2ch-32 bit Float."

That fixed the problem for me. Good luck.
