tampabay.rr.com email stopped working in iphone

I have not been able to receive Roadrunner email in my iPhone for two days now. I have not changed any settings. I tried deleting and recreating the email account and it is still not working. Incoming mail server: pop-server.tampabay.rr.com; Outgoing mail server: mobile-smtp.roadrunner.com I can retrieve email via webmail on a PC and I can receive email on my iPhone when I'm inside my home network. Now that I have deleted my email account on the iPhone, I cannot create it. Now it says pop-server.tampabay.rr.com is not responding.

I dont believe the AT&T Denial of service issue is related. I believe the problem is 99.9% more likely to be the server on the roadrunner bright house end.

The proof to this is that you can access any other POP server account you might have. I tried this with multiple email accounts and with friends who have a variety of email servers including some other roadrunner servers not located or associated with tampa. At the ATT store I spent 1.r hrs testing as well and the only issue is with one server.. pop-tampabay.rr.com.

A denial of service issue would not be affecting your connection to only one pop server unless the DOS attack was on the roadrunner network and targeting the roadrunner pop server which is not what that article is about.

The article is about high end business customers on managed services using AT&T for complex business services. this is totally unrelated to a pop server access at roadrunner/brighthouse

I tried everything including deleting ALL rr email accts. I found what idvdesigns said worked.

Turn your Wi-Fi off. Go to Safari settings and Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data. Go to Mail Settings and you should now be able to set up your email account.

That's it!. Once i cleared out the safari caches, I set up my RR account, clicked next and WHAM!. here the messages came!

I'm running iPhone 4S, 5.1.1

Good luck, everyone.
