Messages Crashes During Screen Sharing

Everytime my friend tries to share her screen with me via messages the connection opens up and then crashs after about 20 seconds. This feature worked before when both ends were using iChat. Now I am on ML using messages and the other end is running Snow Lepard with iChat. Has anyone else had this problem?

The error sent to apple states no traffic was recived for 10 seconds. There was another post on something similar to this with a fix that reduces the bandwith to 500k in preferences. I limited the bandwith to 500kbps at both ends but I still crash. Any ideas?

Hi,

Thanks.

Yeah, adding the Firewire device routes the On/Off option to the iSight which is not there when the computer is free of the external iSight.

The app has been written to allow for Mac Pro and Mac Minis with no camera to Screen Share but allows the older external Firewire device to "add" on On Off Switch to the set up.

USB 2 (UVC Compliant/USB Video Compliant) cameras that may have an On/Off switch are likely to do the same thing.
