XRD Software Update

Since my update to Mountain Lion, I get a icon poping up in the dock for a few seconds the first time I wake the computer up each day.

It has the lable XRD software update, now I never saw this on my previous OS Snow Leopard and have no idea what it is.

Is this part of ML, and if not how do I find out what it is and if I have anything to worry about.

Do you have any X-ray Diffraction software installed?

Hi there,

I have the same issue: XRD Software Update is popping up every day at 9:00AM sharp. No update and no preferences available.

As mentioned on the previous page by flipfromsaratoga, I tried to follow

/Library/Application Support/X-Rite/Frameworks/XRiteDevice.framework/Versions/B/Resources/

But this X-Rite folder doesn't exist on my hard drive. All I have is an old X-Rite i1Profiler (1.3.1) in my applications folder which has been installed when I had my MacBook Pro calibrated at my camera retailer.

Hello everyone,

Any news about this XRD Software Update?

Every single day at 9:00 I still have this XRD popping-up looking for updates and I don't know how to disable it. No harmful but very annoying... (I'm running the latest version of OSX El Capitan)

I had my MacBook Pro calibrated a few years ago in a professional camera store and I now have a "Pantone Color Manager" app installed on my hard-drive. I guess I shouldn't delete it but I suspect this XRD software to be part of it. I tried to dig in my Library (as mentioned in the previous page) but I didn't find it.

Other question: if I buy a new Mac and I transfer my informations using a Time Machine backup, will I still have this annoying XRD Software Update on the new Mac? If so, what should I do? Delete this Pantone Color Manager calibration stuff before doing a last Time Machine backup?

You might want to consider starting a new discussion. Since this one is a couple of years old, less people are likely to look at it. A new post would be much more visible. You can link to this one. Post in the El Capitan community.

If you transfer a Time Machine backup to a new Mac, you will have what you have now. Try deleting the Pantone application using the developer's uninstall instructions.
