Please try this:

- reset the iPhone

- disable location services and turn them back on

- disable WiFi

- strech out your arm to the front holding your iphone as if you were pointing to the front with it and then draw the infinity symbol (∞) several times in front of your body with the phone. Dont be too slow, but dont drop the phone either. (This is not a joke)

- test if it works now and if not describe wht happens

Being inside your home, the GPS signal will not find you. There are too many obstructions in the way that will impair the signal. Make sure that you are standing outside without any obstructions, and turn your wifi off. This will make a difference. Also, you may want to make sure that you have location services turned on for maps. I have this problem problem in my apartment since its brick, steal, and concrete construction, but when I leave, GPS is working fine.

Just to note, if you try to determine your location when connected to wifi, it may not always be able to do so depending on the ISP you have. Especially if you run on DSL or proxy.

One thing that I'm finding weird is that with the image that you posted above, it doesn't appear that GPS or location services are activated. There should be an arrow at least next to the battery icon in the upper right. If GPS has been connected, it would be purple, but not seeing this. Might want to double check to make sure that the location settings have been enabled.

I would try to reset your location and privacy settings in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Location & Privacy and then reboot your phone to kill any background processes. Once rebooted, try starting up your maps and make sure to allow location tracking for the app. Hopefully this will reset any strange bug that may have occurred. If that doesn't work, I would restore your phone. Worst case, it could be the physical GPS radio that is the issue, but hopefully that isn't the case.

Your GPS is getting obstructed and errors out. That is why you get the error. This is pretty usual when you are going from one network (cellular) to another (wifi). It also appears that you start hitting EDGE connectivity also (status icon "E"). This could also be an issue. I'm not very experienced with how well the cellular networks work in your area. May want to contact your carrier. Possible that it isn't hardware related.

we dont have 3g services here nearby, so all phones are using edge services. mine is a factory unlocked phone and my carrier is vodafone. they said they hav no idea regarding this. by the way we dont have micro sims in india so i used a sim cutter and using my sam old sim . am afraid the chip inside my sim is a little cut at the edges. but i have no issues with cals , messages or internet. wil that be a reason? are u sure its not a hardware issue? what is the gps locatioon has to do with the netwrk?
