iTunes match not connecting

I keep getting the below issue when trying to update itunes match:


we could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection was lost. There was an error in the itunes store. please try again later


it is so frustrating! I've turned itunes match off and when I tried to turn it back on I get the same message again.


Anyone any ideas on how to fix this? It's been doing it for the past 6 hours

OK, I think I've got it (at least for me)...


I turned Genius OFF, then tried turning it back ON. It seemed to get stuck, and I tried activating Match with no luck. So I turned it back OFF. Then, with Genius OFF, it turned on Match, and it worked.


I'm giving this a bit longer, but soon will write off the $25 as a loss. I am shocked that iTunes Match is so half-baked.


PS - Just took the time to turn off auto-renewal...
