iTunes match not connecting

I keep getting the below issue when trying to update itunes match:

we could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection was lost. There was an error in the itunes store. please try again later

it is so frustrating! I've turned itunes match off and when I tried to turn it back on I get the same message again.

Anyone any ideas on how to fix this? It's been doing it for the past 6 hours

Thanks!

Yes, I'm in San Francisco and had the problem starting Thursday afternoon. I was able to get about 20% of my new imports processed when I logged on after midnight, but consistantly getting the error all morning now. WIsh there was an official service status/outage page from Apple. I only see one for iCloud which states that all services are up and running.

Another thread regarding the same issue.

And a suggestion to change setting for itunes Match to no auto-renew.

Mine renewal is up in November and I will not be renewing itunes Match until the bugs are all worked out.

Or at the very least, a place for Apple to provide network status from 'THEIR' end. This isn't a user troubleshooting issue.
