iPod touch is connected to wifi, but no internet

I have the newest iPod touch and newest software. When i join my wifi network at my moms house im connected, but i dont have internet access, but when i connect at my dads i have internet. the password is correct and everything, PLEASE help!

iPod touch, iOS 5.1.1

i have logged on before (i forgot the password once), what configurations would these be? and why would the configurations affect my ipod 4th gen but not my mothers?
