How do I install my HP Officejet 4500 Wireless printer in OS X Mountain Lion?

Today I bought a new HP OfficeJet 4500 Wireless printer and wanted to install it on my MacBook Pro (Early 2011) running OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).

When I inserted the installation disk, it said that I should go to the OS X preferences panel and choose Printers, and add my printer there, because OS X uses its own printer driver installations. But when I chose the printer in the drop down menu, it said that the "driver is available for download from Apple. Do you want to download and install now?". I clicked "donwload and install" but after it looked for the download it said that the driver I am looking for is currently not available on the Software-Update-Server.

I also tried downloading the .dmg from the HP website but again: it wants me to install my printer using the default preferences "+ Button"

I hope you can help me.

When my scanner went gray, I deleted the printer but System Preferences didn't "see" the printer to re-Add it.

I tried several Mac and Printer reboots to no avail.

Right-clicked to Reset printers. Nope.

Deleted the HP folder(s) and installed the new drivers from the support link above. Nope.

Called Applecare and was told to reset my home network. Bingo!
