Installing Ricoh MP C3500 printer

How to install this printer? I don't see the IP options that are spoken of with I select + add printer from system preferences. Have downloaded drivers from Apple site and from Ricoh. Printer shows in add printer window. Once select and attempting to print--I receive messages "looking for printer" "connecting to printer" then "printer not responding".

However, another co-worker uses OS X 10.5.8 and has the printer install as a shared printer. I am able to print from it, but cannot successfully install and use in OS X 10.7.4

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

I don't think that anyone is ignoring you. I think there are just some times we don't have any answers. The one thing that did occur to me is to find out whether you checked to see if you are using the same subnet mask. Both the printer, computer, and router have to be on the same subnet -- something like 255.255.255.255.

Another thing to check is to make sure that the printer is using the same Default Gateway (router address) as your computer.

What happens if you try to ping the printer?

The more I think about it, you really only need to compare the subnet mask on as seen in the Network Sysstem preference for the computer with that on the configuration sheet from the printer. The fact that you can ping the printer probably eliminates that as a candidate as a source of trouble.

Maybe one of the more experienced network helpers like PAHU could chime in here and offer some help.
