App Store not working on ipad

Hi,


The App Store on my new ipad that was working till a few days ago has all of a sudden stopped working now.

When i launch App Store by tapping the icon, it opens up but doesn't show any of the items under Featured, Genius, Top Charts, Categories, Purchased, Updates etc. If there are any updates, i see the App Store Icon showing "update available" mark but doesnt show what update is available.


I have seen some discussion on this topic already there on the forum but none seem to have address this problem successfully..


Any ideas...?

Have you tried closing the App Store app via the taskbar and seeing if it displays properly when you re-open the app ? From the home screen (i.e. not with the App Store app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the App Store app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.


If that doesn't fix it then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

This really seems to be an issue with a lot of people around and its hightime Apple should fix it.


For me, I ended up trying almost everything and nothing worked permanently.

Now when I was just about to visit the Local Apple Service Centre as the last resort, I see the APP Store on my pad as started working fine since last two days and I am able to Purchase New/Update existing apps.


I observe some kind of link between when Safari and App Store will/wont work. So in my pad, if Safari is able to Open Youtube and some other specific sites, then my App Store also works fine.


This is highly frustrating since this seems to be neither a permanent issue nor there is a permanent fix.

I'm having the same problems mentioned above, can only see Genius and that I don't have any updates. I can't accept solutions like setting a future date or deleting the account and creating a new one. That is all ridiculous, whether some of them work or not. I actually want to purchase a $10 app, but can't. That's got to be great for Apple's business. I bought a new iPad, my second one, less than a month ago. So far, not so good. Come on, Apple. Make it work.

After several calls to local apple customer care, they asked me try a few things including restoration. When nothing worked, they asked me to take it to the local service centre. The device was found to be faulty so they kept it back and promised to deliver a brand new replacement in next 4 days. Hope the new one works fine.

I can't get on the App Store at all!!!! It's so frustrating!!! I click on App Store and it says cannot connect and I can surf the Internet and play online games I updated the software but it didn't do anything!!!! When I go to the iTunes Store it says that the certificate I am using is invalid i don't even know what it is talking about!!! I need help

Emmy, here are few steps that helped me fixing the same issue:


Open AppStore and try to hold The lock button until you see the slide to unlock, Then hold home. The app wil crash.


Hold home and lock button until you see the Apple logo.


Log out from settings and than open the AppStore(Settings > General > iTunes Store and AppStore).


Disable VPN, settings > general > VPN.


Settings > Profile > Delete if you have any.


I recommend trying EVERY step, more than once if you don't do in properly.

I have been having a problem off and on that is similar to this ... When I open the iTunes app on my iPad it does not go to the iTunes Store it opens the App Store . It does not happen all the time but when it does it doesn't matter what I do it will not take me to the iTunes Store. I have only found one way to correct it and that is to close the app and restart the ipad.

Solution:

Hold both buttons until unit shuts down.

When restarting, hold both buttons but when apple appears, do not release - keep holding until apple disappears and then reappears again.


When you then release, the apple will stay lit for much longer than usual but will eventually move to your sign in screen.


Appl Store restored now. At least it did for me.
