Why does Facebook website (not app) crash in Safari?

Anyone else having a problem with FaceBook crashing...and no other websites? I do not have the FB app, I log in directly via Safari (latest update) and within a few minutes, FaceBook crashes....and keeps crashing even after a re-boot. This does not happen on any other website and I have no problems with Safari, Mail, iBook etc. or any apps.. I have the 3rd gen iPad, wifi, 4G *ha!* ...only a few weeks old...use to have an iPad 2 that ran perfectly. Have contacted Apple several times and they said to keep rebooting, reboot the wifi (which is FINE) and seem to be at a loss to fix this bug, which, obviously is a Safari issue since the crashes only happen on FaceBook..again, logged in directly to the website, not via the app. Apple wants me to do a total restore, but I'm dubious. Feedback appreciated!

Is this really a Safari bug? The web version of Facebook crashes constantly and it does not matter if I use Safari, Opera, Google Chrome or iLunascape. Most other web sites seem to work fine on my old first gen iPad. So what's the issue? Of course I can use the app, but that's not going to give me the full Facebook experience, and neither does m.facebook.com. Any soluions will be appreciated.ntanks.

I have the first iPad. I had never done an OS update on it since I got it 2 years ago. Up until about 2 months ago the FB website was working fine. Then, as everyone else here is seeing, Safari started crashing when on the FB website. Particularly with high graphic pages. So, my first thought was, maybe it was my iPad. So I finally did the OS update to the latest version. That made no difference at all. FB still crashes Safari. So it is definitely a Safari Browser issue.

Same thing happening here too. I have a first Gen iPad, Facebook crashes in Safari. Have cleared cache, multiple restarts, without changing the problem. This has only started recently...maybe in the last 3 weeks or so. I have the most recent software running...not the 6.0, as that hasn't been offered to me except on my phone. I wish Apple/Facebook / Safari would solve this annoying problem! ASAP !

Okay guys...I've been bugging my Apple support guy about this, especially since now it's becoming evident there is a problem out there with Safari (not just me!). I am still convinced it's a problem with the rapid loading... Sending another plea to support today...maybe you all can report it to Apple as well, not just here. If enough of us start whining about it, maybe "they" will move faster.

I have this same exact problem on my new iPad as well. It did not happen before until I updated to the new IOS . Facebook recently reported that many people were not using their application to use Facebook. I am almost 90% sure that it is the dirty works of Facebook causing this crash because they want you to download and use application instead of using their online website address to access their Facebook page . They want you to sync all your personal contact info with them so that they can steal all your personal info from your iPad. Through Safari this is not easy for them to do but via application it is for them. Dirty bas***** if you ask me. Worked fine in the past with no problems so why all these crashing problems all of the sudden. Guys at Apple are not stupid but guys at Facebook are sneaky and dirty.

I just bought the new IPad last week and quickly realized that safari kept crashing while scrolling through a timeline page on Facebook. I went to return the iPad thinking it might have been a defective one and bought another one at a different store. Without adding any apps I went straight to Facebook to see if I could scroll through a friends timeline without a crash but unfortunately safari kept crashing. I also checked to see if it was only safari that crashed by installing chrome on the first iPad I bought but sure enough chrome crashed as well doing the same scrolling through a timeline page on Facebook. Oh yeah, I just did an update to iOS 6 to see if that would help but the browser still crashes. Haven't played with the Facebook app to see if its better but I guess that shouldn't be the work around. The browser should be able to pull up the website without crashing. What's weird is that I couldn't get the display iPad at best buy to crash, although their Internet connection was slow to bring up pages when compared to me loading the page at home. Don't know if that helped that display iPad to not crash. Hope you hear from apple soon. I have 24 days left to return this thing, I'm undecided whether to keep this thing or get the Samsung note 10.1 instead.
