What are the difference in these two formats? Anyone know? I have a 1TB hard drive I bought and I don't know which one to select. I know I will be saving files over 4gb and will be using both Mac & PC platforms.

Why do you want to use case sensitive?
I don't know what case-sensative does, I was just trying to see what each exactly format option is more compatible with a PC platform.
A caveat with case-sensitive file system is that not all applications work properly with them, including a number of Apple applications.

True. My feeling on using case-sensitive file system is to only use them when you are forced into using them because nothing else works.

FAT32 is limited to files of 4GB
exFAT will allow larger than 4GB files. Use exFAT assuming the device that is going to also use it supports exFAT
Thanks Bob. Some us are a bit late in learning "in & outs" of formating media for use on our "older" Macs.
