MacBookPro 2Gb (Snow Leopard 10.6.8)

"Limit the Logs to the Bits above Binary Images." No, Seriously
Parent controlls are turned off never even turned on. When I login with another user or guest I have the same issue.
HI,
If Parental Controls are not On and even setting up a new Mac User account has the same issue then the issue is not with the .plist(s) for Messages.
Can you open the Hard Drive then the Library inside that to level of the Drive (Where you can also see System Applications and Users)
There should be a Messages Folder in here and that should contain the Plugins for AIM, Bonjour, Jabber and Yahoo
Do you have these ?
If not do you have a Time Machine Back-up where you can check back to your Install date and see if they were ever there ?

How can I re-download the plugins?
Hi,
As you can see mine are in a different order from yours.
The folders themselves are also different sizes.
It did used to be that you could install (or reinstall) parts of iChat from the Install disk (up until Lion)
You have two options if you have a Time Machine or any other sort of Backup
If you know that at one time Messages worked you could use Time Machine in the folder in the pics and go back to an earlier state.
The other option is to Reinstall Mountain Lion.
As I have never seen this before and it will be difficult to track down it may pay to go for the Mountain Lion reinstall.
