Virex and eUpdates

So, it's been a while since I've used my old G3. I'm now reinstalling the OS 10.2.8 and the software updater installing the combo. Now..question is I haven't seen the eUpdate or Virex run upon startup. I have internet connection and can access no problem. There aren't any errors coming up, just that I can't find anything for Virex. Is there a new link/sw I need to find for anti-virus?

Mac currently:
OS 10.2.8 (with updates)
256MB - 700MHz - G3

Not sure if I should just go for the latest OS...

Software Update shouldn't be in charge of updating Virex, since Virex is a 3rd-party application, not made by Apple. And to see if Virex is still running up Activity Monitor (it's in /Applications/Utilities) and then type in virex in the filter box. You'll see all process that are currently running with virex in the name (make sure the pop-up box says 'All Processes', not just 'My processes'. HTH.

Hi,
Just tried your advice, and Virex wasn't there as per your instructions. But, I decided to just do a complete search and, after a little time and effort, I found it and was able to relaunch!
I felt like I was on a quest for the Holy Grail. 😉 I couldn't have done it without you, and I cannot thank you enough! Big hug and a kiss! ^ _^
