MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)
Had same error message appear yesterday. Was worried it had something to do with my new macbook pro... relieved (sadly) that I was not the only one. Phone Apple tech supoort today and they dealt with it in a few minutes... going to preferrences> network and other stuff I can't remember but going to DNS and putting in 8.8.8.8 applying it...closing preferences and rebooting my macbookpro... found iTunes 10.7 update whereas before there were no updates showing! Hope that helps!
As of 13 Sep 8:30pm ET, the problem seems to be fixed (at least from my end) after wating for more than a day.
Able to get my MBA and Mini updated. Both are on Mountain Lion.
I have 2011 Macbook Pro doing the same thing, running OS X 10.8.2 😟
I have the same problem on all my Macs running 10.8.2: one Mac Pro, two Mac Mini and one Mac Book.
I also have one Mac Pro and One Mac Mini running 10.7.5 with no problems to update.
